If you are going to follow along with the example this is a good idea to open the projectile : ...\ProdasV3\ProjectileData\Examples\IBF\30mm_IBF_Start.pr3 and then open the Model Editor which is in the Edit Menu.

In the following figure, the rotating band component is shown. In the picture the component is shown in red. In the right it shows that the component is made up of five elements. The key is in the bottom right box. Setting the conponent's physical function is the way to identify this component as the rotating band so that Mass properties can calculate its properties which then become inputs for the Baer Frankle analysis.
