Formatted Results |
The Formatted Results gives a summary of the inputs and the resulting output.
Here the user can scroll down through the formatted results to quickly verify input data, examine a summary of the interior ballistics simulation, along with details of the time varying output, and the results of the rotating band output. Upon scrolling down through the Formatted Output, we see the muzzle velocity is a bit over 1031 m/sec for a peak pressure just over 357 MPa and conclude these results are sufficiently close to the desired performance. One useful feature of the Formatted Results is the Mass Fraction column on the far right hand side of the Interior Ballistics Results As Functions Of Time output. This is the fraction of propellant burned during the simulation. Should the Mass Fraction be less than 1.0 when the projectile exits the barrel, this indicates a less-than-optimum propellant solution has been chosen for the system simulated. A change in web, propellant geometry, propellant thermochemistry, and/or deterrent level could be considered. It is left to the user to determine which propellant changes are most compatible with his/her intended application.
With the Baer-Frankle analysis executed, Clicking on the Formatted Results should look like the screen capture below.
This form of the output results can be copied or sent to the printer.
