| Rotating Band Tabular Results |
By clicking on the Display menu as shown below, you can display the results of the rotating band analysis portion of the Baer-Frankle interior ballistics simulation.
The user should note no rotating band computations until the travel step just prior to the 2.0mm we entered earlier for the "Free Run". This indicates the projectile does not contact the rifling until the 2.0mm free run is complete and the rifling can thus engage the rotating band. The user can also scroll down the output page to examine the BandPercent worn in the far right hand column. Here we see the percent band wear at muzzle exit is slightly less than 40%, which is acceptable for this particular application.
The output information displayed below is the rotating band information; barrel twist angle, angular velocity and acceleration, torque, bearing stress and band wear. These values can be copied and saved to a spreadsheet if desired.
