Where to place Yaw Cards for 105M735Cartridge_start.pr3

In this section of the Yaw Card Tutorial the user will learn how to determine the Yaw Cycle of our example projectile, 105M735Cartridge_start.pr3, via PRODAS. Our example projectile is fin stabilized and thus the fin stabilized rules will be used to determine where to place the yaw cards.

To determine the length of the Yaw Cycle for a particular projectile design the user can either plot the yawing motion vs range as in the prior tutorial section or run the Stability Analysis under the Aerodynamics section.

After executing the Stability Analysis open the Formatted Results Window and scroll down to the "Muzzle Exit Aeroballistic Parameters" summary section where the user will find the Yaw Period information.

So to determine yaw card positions for the 105mm M735 multiply the yaw period by 1.5

54.7 * 1.5 = 82.1m

Divide this number by the number of cards desired (16 for this example)

82.1 / 16 = 5.1m

Space the Yaw Cards every 5.1m
