| Goal of the Yaw Card Module |
Yaw Cards are utilized in ballistic testing to capture the projectile motion. The data provides aerodynamic data otherwise obtainable only by fairly expensive techniques such as spark range testing. The Yaw Card data can be collected very cheaply and yield valuable information. The data can be used for other PRODAS modules such as trajectory and stability which predict the projectile motion. The Yaw Card analysis can calculate actual aerodynamic coefficients based on test data. The Yaw Card analysis is used to extract experimental aerodynamics by matching the data measurements to the linearized equations of motion.
