Rocket Motor Design Procedure

This page provides the Rocket Motor Design Module user with an overview of the use of the Rocket Motor Design tools required to successfully design a rocket motor.

The Rocket Motor Design tools contained within PRODAS are:

The Rocket Motor Design Utility is a rocket motor design "pre-processor" included with the PRODAS Main Analysis Package which helps the user select an appropriate operating pressure and propellant grain geometry, plus size the propellant grain and nozzle of the motor.

The Rocket Motor Simulation is an optional PRODAS Analysis Module capable of detailed rocket motor simulations that calculates the time varying pressure, surface area, flow rate, etc. The output of the Rocket Motor Simulation is a table of thrust versus time in the PRODAS Thrust/Tracer/Base Burn trajectory support module used during 4DoF and 6DoF trajectory simulations.
