When the canards are deflected and the resultant force generated by this deflection are applied to the projectile it will drive the projectile to an overall angle of attack. This projectile angle of attack generates a Normal force in the plane of deflection and will cause the projectile to move in the AOA direction. Therefore with the canard deflections defined for this problem and the horizontal plane constraint, the projectile should first move laterally to the right, then left, and finally towards the right once more.
