In order to illustrate how CONTRAJ can be used to quickly predict the performance of a Smart Projectile, we shall
consider a simple example problem that demonstrates the typical procedure.
The specifics are as follows:
- We will use an M735 fin stabilized long rod with forward canards
- The control system will simulate 3 different canard deflection events.
- A deflection of 5 degrees right at .5 second Time of Flight, TOF.
- A deflection of 10 degrees left at 2.0 seconds TOF.
- A deflection of 6 degrees right at 3.5 seconds TOF.
- Each of the deflection events are
- For 1 second.
- Applied ONLY in the horizontal plane.
- Applied at the center of pressure of the forward canards.
