Trajectory Control

Looking at a Different Trajectory

You may have noticed that the Traj reload button is sometimes greyed out. It is greyed out after the currently run trajectory information is loaded.

If you kept the visualizer open and were to go back to the 6DOF Trajectory and rerun it, that button would become enabled. It is important to realize that PRODAS won't automatically reload a new trajectory for you if the visualizer is open, you have to press the button yourself. If the visualizer is opened after the trajectory is run then it is automatically loaded.

Speeding Up the Trajectory

Every once in a while, the trajectory will be running too slow. It is very easy to speed it up by increasing the value for Traj Skip to a number greater than 1. The motion must be stopped (or paused) for this to have effect.

Viewing from the Trajectory Tangent

Most viewing is done from the Earth fixed frame of reference. When the projectile is flying up, it is pointed up.

Occasionally, you may want to study the motion without the large angles. By checking the Fly on Traj Tangent checkbox and then selecting a view (top, side, front or back), you will now be looking at the projectile as if you were riding on the tangent to the trajectory. The small motions will be much more visible.
