Script Example to generate the maneuver footprint

In this portion of the tutorial, we will execute a script file which will run 3 deployment times full circle thus producing the theoretical maneuver footprint. The script file modifies the maneuver time (canting the forward canards) at different times of flight. Also, the script modifies the roll angle/orientation at which the force and moment created by the fin cant will be held constant. The end result is an impact footprint that represents the theoretical best performance that can be attained by the projectile's aerodynamics. This again represents the best theoretical performance of a “perfect” guidance and control. (i.e. no accounting for loss in performance due to Guidance and Control response and sensor errors)

Both the projectile, 105M1_Contraj7DOF_Finish.pr3, and the script file, Contraj 7DOF Script Example.pvb, are provided with PRODAS. The projectile was built as defined earlier in the tutorial.

Looking at the well commented script code and seeing the results will give you a good feel for the power of the PRODAS scripting. Hopefully you will feel comfortable to modify the script and do your own studies with this round.

This script will produce a crossplot as well as a text file. The text file will contain the Impact data such as time of flight X and Y (Range and Drift impacts).
