The "7DOF Parameters" tab is shown below. We will be filling out this screen next. Initially all the values are zero as shown below.
NOTES ABOUT SPECIFIC CONTROLS:
"Bearing Friction Coeff" is a multiplier of the nose radial load (Calculated by the drag of the nose alone)
Special note: The nose radial load is calculated by the nose drag contribution initially, when the nose canards are deployed the simulation assumes a motor will take over and keep the desired nose orientation. The torque required to keep the despun nose at zero relative to the earth axis. This torque calculation considers the radial load/bearing friction which now includes the contribution to radial load of the canted fins.
"Use Friction Table" -Allows use of an input table with bearing friction vs axial load. This option will be discussed in another tutorial. "Aft Body Alone" turns on the body alone Clp for the spinning section of the projectile.
"Aft Fin Set 1-3" and "Populate Forebody Aeros" are not used in this section of the tutorial but will be discussed in detail along with the "Use Friction Table" in an additional tutorial.
