Pressure Match Run |
For our example we want the program to match the pressure by varying Web size. We define the problem by using the pulldown options on the Setup Tab as shown below.
Matching the peak pressure and then making adjustments to the propellant characteristics to meet the velocity requirement usually results in a more appropriate simulation of interior ballistic performance. By asking the program to match velocity without regard to peak pressure, it is possible to obtain peak pressures which are quite high, possibly exceeding the pressure limits of the gun tube. It is left to the user to determine which matching method best suits the simulation requirements at hand.
