Lets Run a Single Analysis / Initial Conditions

Running a single analysis provides you with the following benefits:

A more in-depth set of results. For example, it provides bending moment and shear force at each node in a single analysis and the displacement and velocities at each node in the gun tube. This type of data can be very useful during the design phase of a projectile.
It validates/verifies the overall BALANS model in terms of spring stiffness values, material properties, and boundary conditions before moving on to a Statistical Analysis.
Single analyses are very fast; most execute in 15 seconds or less (depending on the computer).

At this point, the only remaining data to be set are the initial conditions which establish the initial orientation of the projectile in the gun tube at time zero. The initial conditions for this analysis are shown below. The runout and diameter information allows the projectile to be oriented within the bore in a “worst case” alignment initial starting orientation. For the Single analysis, the orientation of that misalignment relative to a vertical plane is also input.

After setting the initial conditions, the user must return to the Analysis Setup Tab and hit the run In-Bore Balloting Analysis button to run the analysis.
