The pr3 file used to run Balans not only contains

• the Projectile model as shown on the previous slide
• but it must also contain the gun tube model.

Create the gun tube model with a new pr3 file just as you would build a new projectile in the model editor. Again try to define both the geometry and material properites as accurately as possible. Run mass properties to make sure that you have a good model.

Once the gun tube is modeled to your satisfaction along with the projectile, the two are combined as shown in the next slide.

In our example we have already built the gun tube model and it is stored in BALANS Tutorial_Gun_Tube.pr3.
