From these plots we can evaluate the quality of the match to the experimental data. This is a good method to find any erroneous data points that may have been either incorrectly read or incorrectly entered into the yaw data. As stated before since this is a large round and makes a fair sized hole in the yawcard it allows for accurate and precise measurement of the angular data.
Now fortunately for this tutorial the yaw data recorded was good enough that the fit was easily made with only the auto initialized coefficients checked. But in the event that the data is not as good as this or the initial fit error is not as small how do we know when the fit is optimal and what parameters should be checked next?
