After a fine day of testing 105mm M735s through yaw cards we have collected the following data:
- 21 Deg C at 991 millibars pressure, 100m Altitude
- 1508 m/s Muzzle Velocity
- The following Yaw Card Data
Collecting and interpreting the Yaw Card data has been previously discussed in this tutorial. Just to recap:
- The distance from the Muzzle,Xdist, is measured when the Yaw Cards were setup.
- The roll orientation angle, phi, is measured directly from the card. It is the angle between the plumb line and the hole. (This is the total angle of attack plane orientation)
- The yaw angle, alpha total, is determined from the yaw card by:
- Running the Yaw Card Analysis to generate a Yaw Angle vs. Hole size table.
- Measuring the hole length from the yaw card
- Determining the Yaw Angle by interpolating the hole length from the Yaw Angle vs. Hole size table
