Determining the Bourrelet Length

For medium and large caliber projectiles, the task of determining the bourrelet length is considerably simpler than for small caliber systems, one merely subtracts the aft controlling diameter reference location from the reference dimension of the most left-hand reference for the ogive. For projectiles like the PGU-15/B, the aft controlling diameter is aft of the crimp groove.

For our example we go back to the model editor and get the position and length values needed for the calculation.
