| Maneuvering the Contraj 7DOF Example Round |
Please open the projectile that we modeled in this tutorial. If you have not followed along to this point you could open the model provided with the tutorial which is already set up. If you are using the model provided with the tutorial, please save a copy because you will want to begin with the model in that configuration for the final scripting section of the tutorial.
In this section of the tutorial, we will be maneuvering the Contraj 7DOF example round that we built in this tutorial. This will exercise the 7th degree of freedom (Secondary spin axis) caused by the despun nose section.
Currently we have the geometry and aerodynamics defined for our projectile. We will set the final Contraj 7DOF inputs. Next, we will use this projectile for three sets of example runs. The projectile will also be used for a scripting example where the round will be cycled many times through the Contraj 7DOF program to generate the theoretical maneuver footprint.
Note that we have prepared the round such that the despun nose is in its own assembly. This will allow rapid and accurate update of the 7DOF nose physical parameters within CONTRAJ 7DOF.
The model with the despun nose is shown below in the model editor. You do not need to go into the model editor at this point.
