Contraj7DOF Tutorial Prerequisites

PRODAS contains a Contraj tutorial which goes through modeling a statically stable projectile with forward canards. It is highly recommended the user first go through this tutorial to understand the basic use of the Body Fixed Trajectory CONTRAJ options including modeling forward canards, the aerodynamic states, and how to maneuver in the baseline Contraj simulation. This will give the user the basic understanding of how Contraj works prior to simulating this tutorial's spin stabilized projectile with forward canards and a despun nose.

Note that most of the contraj and Contraj 7DOF input windows are identical. Completing and understanding the Contraj tutorial will prepare you for this tutorial. Please refer to the contraj tutorial for details on the contraj input windows.

This tutorial also assumes that the user is competent in the use of PRODAS including Model editor, Aero Prediction and Stability assessment.
