REBAR was originally designed as a preliminary design tool, but has proven itself invaluable in the development and assessment of APFSDS projectiles. When coupled with other tools, such as balloting codes and detailed structural analysis codes, it becomes part of a suite of tools that enables the APFSDS projectile designer to develop and/or optimize a projectile for launch.
